Introduction to C2TAW

The Southeast Asia Regional Office of Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBF) initiated the Tsunami Aid Watch programme (TAW) soon after the December 2004 tsunami struck ; beginning in July, 2005 to run until January, 2008. The programme is to systematically monitor the impact of tsunami aid packages and the mechanism of implementation for best practices in the long term.
TAW is a specific programme under the Development Aid Watch initiatives which HBF has implemented for many years, applying sustainable development criteria in its advocacy, enhancing participatory democracy and civil society engagement as well as good governance principles in Thailand’s development process.
TAW programme has been working hand in hand with associated local alliances (organizations) to enhance community capabilities emphasizing on the mid term and long term rehabilitation. The cooperation is aimed to achieve the maximized outcome of aid provision.
